Due to a major change in fire risk legislation in 2006, fire risk certificates are no longer issued or in force. It is therefore a necessity for an employer or someone responsible for a work place to have what is known as a 'suitable and sufficient fire risk assessment' in place.
Most UK businesses must as a legal requirement have a fire risk assessment and according to legislation, must have a copy available on site for inspection at all times.
